2018 – Mexico City, Mexico (Instituto Pedagógico para Problemas de Lenguaje)
Longitudinal ethnographic field-research investigating the medicalization of deafness. Field methods include digital storytelling, photovoice, personal history timelines, surveys, and semi-structured interviews (January-July 2018; 7 months).

2012 – Mexico City, Mexico (Instituto Pedagógico para Problemas de Lenguaje)
Comprehensive ethnographic field-research investigating deafness among deaf youth and their families. Participatory field methods included photovoice, personal history timelines, surveys, interviews (7 mo.)

2010 – Santa Cruz, Bolivia (Civil and Environmental Engineering Dept., U. of South Florida)
Designed ethnographic research for civil engineering team investigating the impact of public green spaces on urban water drainage. Implemented surveys, conducted semi-structured interviews, analyzed and presented results (1 month).

2010 – Mexico City, Mexico (Grupo Tessera)
Evaluated a partnership between hearing and deaf youth using ethnographic methods. Analyzed the results to determine strengths and weaknesses of the program (1 month).

2009 – Siem Reap, Oudong Province, & Phomn Penh, Cambodia (East-West Center)
Participated in a current events seminar investigating the effects of the Khmer Rouge regime and civil war on contemporary Cambodian education. Conducted interviews and participant-observation at non-governmental organizations sponsoring deaf education (1 month).
